Working with Interventions
Fran Burgess started off her session talking through her recently developed take
on the Map of Interventions, bringing together the various options spanning on one
axis Top Down-
Referencing her new book The NLP Cookbook, she said that most of the interventions within it were either Product Techniques or Process Techniques, but all of them were based on either models derived through NLP Modelling or devised from methods external to NLP. And much of her understanding about modelling came through developing her understanding of how to work with interventions with different explorer.
“Anxiety is caused by us feeling that we aren’t in control. This process brings back the control to us.”

She then introduced one of the Cookbook’s recipes -
“Six month modelling projects could be a thing of the past”
After the break Fran then dazzled us with an illustration of the ultimate intervention:
how to model an explorer’s issue, come up with its structure, take this model and
turn it into a bespoke acquisition process -
“This is the doorway into infinite numbers of models and techniques.”
Unfortunately we have to wait for the launch of her NLP Cookbook which is due next
week at the NLP Conference 18-
“Crown House Publishing has done just the best job ever.”

“In the early days of NLP, our lives were devoted to exploring the many possibilities of consciousness and change. I wish we had possessed a guidebook like this, as it offers so many interesting suggestions for creating new choices and outcomes. Fran Burgess has compiled so many delectable recipes, you’re almost tempted to eat the menu!” Stephen Gilligan, Ph.D. : Author, The Hero’s Journey
This book is Fran, through and through. Like a diamond, she absorbs the layered light of experience and then gives it back to us, sparkling in a hundred new forms. The result? We are both delighted and enlightened. David Gordon : Co Author: Therapeutic Patterns of Milton H. Erickson, and Expanding Your World
